Flo-Tech Supports Greater Middletown Chorale and Special Spring Concert Performance
Flo-Tech was pleased to support the Greater Middletown Chorale’s spring concert, held on April 3, 2011, that included a special performance and world premier commissioned work written for a very special audience member.
One of the concert’s featured pieces, “Watching You Hearing Me,” was written specifically per the request of Chorale tenor Rich Pugliese, a Middlesex Hospital doctor who, over the course of their 30 years of marriage watched his wife, Maryellen Pugliese, slowly lose her hearing completely.
Throughout the degradation of her hearing, Maryellen continued to support her husband and the Greater Middletown Chorale – never missing a single concert even though she couldn’t hear a single note.
This new work by Meneely-Kyder, composer-pianist of Lyme as well as a Wesleyan University faculty member, crafted the piece in celebration of the couple’s 30th wedding anniversary and the recent return of Maryellen’s hearing following two successful cochlear implant surgeries. The performance was a beautiful surprise for Maryellen. Flo-Tech was proud to be part of such a special and personal performance.BACK TO FLO-TECH NEWS
